On Friday, September 21, at the Lower East Side venue University Settlement, TILT Brass joins forces with Dave Douglas’ Festival of New Trumpet (FONT) to present a singular evening of vanguard brass music premieres. Part of FONT’s month-long 10th anniversary celebration, the program features the long-overdue New York Premiere of venerated Dutch composer Louis Andriessen’s seminal 1972 40+ minute tour de force de Volharding (Perseverance) and the World Premiere of the brass ensemble and solo trumpet installment of iconoclast Nate Wooley’s Seven Storey Mountain project.
